Edinboro Wins Distance Medley Relay, in Fourth Place after Day One of PSAC Indoor Track & Field Championships

EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro women's indoor track & field team is in fourth place out of 14 teams after day one of the 2020 PSAC Indoor Track & Field Championships. Edinboro is once again hosting the event at the Mike S. Zafirovski Sports & Recreation Center.

West Chester holds down first place 42 points, with Slippery Rock in second place with 38.5 points. Seton Hill has 34.5 points and stands in third place, with Edinboro totaling 29 points. Kutztown rounds out the top five with 25 points.

The highlight of the day for the Fighting Scots came in the Distance Medley Relay, as the foursome of Kimberly Goerss, Abby Piert, Hope Pietrocarlo, and Stefanie Parsons would cross the finish line first with a time of 12:07.30. That was over six seconds better than Seton Hill, the second place finisher with a time of 12:13.57.

Edinboro had three runners reach the podium in the 5,000-meter run, led by Pietrocarlo. The redshirt junior earned All-PSAC honors for the second time on the day with a second place finish, posting a time 18:02.88. Tori Klimowicz placed fifth (18:14.79), while Anna Alberti was seventh (18:28.44).

Freshman Jayna Galley captured fifth place in the pentathlon with a season-best total on 3,011 points. She registered her highest point total in the 800-meter run, recording a time of 2:30.31 to earn 689 points. She added 655 points in the 60-meter dash.
