Edinboro Goes to 1-1 with 6-1 Loss to Hillsdale

Box Score (New/Sortable Format) ERIE, Pa. – The Edinboro men's tennis team began a busy stretch of three matches in four days with a 6-1 loss to a strong Hillsdale team on Saturday afternoon. The match was played at Edinboro's indoor home, the Westwood Racquet Club. Edinboro is now 1-1, while Hillsdale moved to 2-0 after defeating Mercyhurst on Friday.

The score was much more lopsided than the match itself. Nils Plutat accounted for Edinboro's only win, as the sophomore won a 6-1, 6-1 decision at number one singles.

But two other matches went three sets, as Ruben Acuna dropped a 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 decision at number three singles, and Kaio Sacchi went down 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 at number four singles. In addition, Billy Chang and Jorge Benette lost by identical 6-4, 6-4 scores at number five and six singles.

Edinboro is back in action on Sunday afternoon, hosting Ashland at 3:45 p.m., then hosts Roberts Wesleyan on Tuesday, February 11.
