Edinboro Drops to Barton College on Day One of Spring Trip

Box Score (New/Sortable Format) WILSON, N.C. – The Edinboro men's tennis team started off their spring trip facing Barton on Saturday. In a dual of teacher vs. pupil, former Edinboro head coach Lee Underwood would lead his Bulldogs to a 5-2 win over an Edinboro team coached by his former player, Kody Duncan. Edinboro is now 5-2 on the season while Barton improved to 7-1.

Tommy Hsu and Kaio Sacchi each picked up a win in their singles matches. Hsu would defeat Philip Nordberg 7-5, 6-2, at number two singles, while Kaio Sacchi won by scores of 7-5, 6-3 over Rory Gaydon at number four singles. At number one singles, Nils Plutat lost a close three-set match to Diego Agudelo by scores of 6-2, 1-6, 6-4. Billy Chiang and Ruben Acuna would win their doubles match, 6-3, over Nordberg and James Kelly.

Edinboro returns to action on Sunday, March 8 in Hilton Head Island, S.C. facing West Liberty. That is the start pf four meatches in Hilton Head Island.
