EDINBORO, Pa. – With the season set to open on Nov. 6, the Fighting Scot wrestling team had their annual wrestle-offs Friday night inside McComb Fieldhouse.
At 125 pounds,
Chris Merlo and
Zach Soda each earned decisions to set up the final. Soda earned a 6-0 decision in the final to win the 125-pound spot.
Clayton Bashor got the nod at 133 after earning a 3-1 decision in his match against
Cameron Soda. Bashor earned a spot in the final by defeating
Dawson Miller 9-0.
At 141,
Gabe Willochell earned a fall over Amonn Ohi in 6:30. Ohl won a 7-3 decision over
Jackie Gold.
Ryan Burgos defeated
Jake Pail to open the action at 149.
Sully Allen also defeated Pail to set up a matchup with Burgos in the 149-pound final. Burgos pinned Allen in 1:10.
At 157,
Alex Garee went 2-0 with a 6-2 decision over
Alex Garcia and a 7-2 decision over
Ethan Ferro. Ferro also scored a decision 8-6 over Garcia.
Dylan Kohn earned a pair of victories over
Karamvir Hothi at 165. In the first match he earned a 13-3 major decision. He followed it up with another major decision 8-0.
The action moved to 184 where
Ethan Ducca earned a major decision over
Joey Arnold.
Zach Ancewicz earned a 16-8 major over
Ethan Sabo. In the 184-pound final, Ducca wrestled to a 3-1 decision over Ancewicz.
Cody Mulligan and
Jack Kilner each picked up victories over
Nick Lodato to earn a spot in the 197-pound final. In the final Mulligan claimed a 4-0 decision.
At 285,
Max Millin pinned
Jordan Schell in the second period.
Jon Spaulding earned a first-period fall over Schell before topping Millin 2-0 in the final.
