Jayna Galley used top finishes in the 800 meter and the shot put to win the women's pentathlon at the Mike Kowal Multi-Meet on Saturday.
Galley posted a time of 2:31.05 in the 800 meter to claim the top time in the event. She tossed the shot put 11.02 meters again enough to win the event.
Her high jump of 1.6 meters tied her for third. She finished sixth in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 10.34 and her long jump of 4.79 put her in seventh.
Galley edged Elizabeth Barre of Carnegie Mellon 3,165-3,162 for the top spot.
Mallory Voegelin finished the pentathlon in eighth with a total score of 2,426.
Voegelin turned in a 1.45 m high jump to tie for sixth. Her 2:42.53 time in the 800 meter gave her a seventh-place finish.
She added ninth place finishes in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 10.79 and the long jump with a distance of 4.3 meters. Her 7.49 toss in the shot put was good for 10
th.
