Edinboro Men’s and Women’s Tennis Open Season against Walsh

Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro Fighting Scots tennis programs begin their 2021 season hosting Walsh Friday evening at 6:30 at Westwood Racquet Club.

This is not the first time the programs have opened against Walsh, as Head Coach Kody Duncan prefers to play them early in the year.

"Walsh is a very talented team. We always play them in the beginning of the year because they help us prepare for regional and conference play," said the fourth-year head coach and 2015 Edinboro graduate.
"I'm excited to see how we compete tonight and regardless of the outcome, I'm proud of every single one of these athletes who had to fight through so much adversity this past year."

Duncan's excitement was echoed by his newly appointed assistant coach Marie Berghaus.

"I am very thankful to be part of the Edinboro tennis program and for the opportunity to experience college tennis for a little bit longer," said the graduate assistant who is pursuing her master's degree in Business. "I am excited to see this young and talented team succeed and as their assistant coach they will have my full support on and off the court. I'm going into my first coaching match with just as much excitement and love for the game as if I were playing today."
