Box Score (New/Sortable Format) 1 | Box Score (New/Sortable Format) 2 Edinboro, Pa. - The Edinboro tennis programs were back in action yesterday evening in non-conference play against Salem University. The matches were the first for the squads in about a month's time, but both teams came ready to play on Sunday and were eager to resume their season after the layoff. The men's program picked up their first win of 2021 with a 6-1 victory over the Tigers while the women lost in a close match by a 4-3 final.

The men picked up victories in five of six singles matches, including wins at two through six singles by Ruben Acuna, Thibault Dorval, Gustavo Martins, Kaio Sacchi, and Kai Chin Chen. In women's singles, the Fighting Scots won three matches with Kaede Tada winning at number one singles and Anna Zak and Emily Cevera picking up wins at five and six singles. In doubles, the men's team picked up victories at number two and three doubles with the teams of Thibault Dorval and Gustavo Martins winning at number two doubles and Kaio Sacchi and Ruben Acuna winning at number three doubles. On the women's side, the tandem of Emily Cevera and Lauren Chiacchia picked up a victory at number three doubles.

The programs next matches will Saturday, March 20 against PSAC opponent Bloomsburg University. The matches are slated to begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Westwood Racquet Club in Erie.
