Edinboro Men's Tennis hosts Bloomsburg and Kutztown to begin PSAC play; women welcome Slippery Rock

Edinboro, Pa - The Edinboro men's tennis team will stay home this weekend for two home matches at the Edinboro University tennis courts. The program's first match will kick-off PSAC play as they welcome Bloomsburg on Saturday, March 20 at 1:00 p.m. They will then face their second conference opponent in as many days by playing host to Kutztown on March 21 also at 1:00 p.m.

The women will also kick off conference play in a match with Slippery Rock University in Edinboro on Saturday, March 20 at 1:00 p.m.

"We have been working very hard this week to prepare for these upcoming matches. I believe it will show on the court. Everyone on the team knows the importance of conference play and we will be ready this weekend." - Edinboro Head Tennis Coach Kody Duncan

On the men's side, the Fighting Scots picked up their first win of the season over the Salem University Tigers in dominating fashion (6-1) to improve their record to 1-3 on the young season. Rust did not appear to be an issue against Salem even though the team was off for about a month's time.

Thibault Dorval and Gustavo Martins from Edinboro are tied for the team lead in wins with three while Ruben Acuna and Kai Chin Chen each have two wins in doubles actions on the season. Edinboro has won seven straight matches over Bloomsburg and leads the all-time series 7-2. As for Kutztown, the Fighting Scots have won nine straight matches against the Golden Bears and lead the all-time series 9-4.

Bloomsburg and Kutztown have yet to play in a match so far this season which fares well for the Fighting Scots preparation heading into the two weekend matches.

On the women's side, Edinboro and Slippery Rock will meet for the first time since April of 2019. Slippery Rock is 0-2 on the season after suffering losses to Cleveland State and Carnegie Mellon. The Fighting Scots nearly picked up their first win over the season last weekend as they lost a close match 4-3 to Salem. First-year Kaede Tada for Edinboro comes into singles action 2-1 on the season and will look to carry momentum over from her singles victory against Salem.
