Edinboro men's tennis drops close PSAC match to Mercyhurst

Box Score (New/Sortable Format) EDINBORO, Pa. - A match originally scheduled to be played in Fairview was moved to Edinboro between two historic tennis programs. In this one, the Lakers were able to take the victory of Edinboro by a narrow 4-3 final score.

The Fighting Scots were able to pick up victories from Ruben Acuna (Palma De Mallorca, Spain/Aula Balear), Gustavo Martins (Sao Carlos, Brazil), Kaio Sacchi (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Santo Ivo), and a doubles victory from Thibault Dorval (Belgium) and Martins. The win from Acuna makes it his third straight singles win while Martins made it nine straight at the number four singles spot. Sacchi has also now won nine straight at the number five singles position with the duo Martins and Dorval winning eight of their last nine in doubles action.

The match between two Atlantic Region ranked opponents did not disappoint and a PSAC Championship match could very easily occur between these two historic programs later this season. The Fighting Scots return to action this week on Thursday, April 22 as they make up a match with Daemen College. This will be the regular season finale for Edinboro as they being to prepare for a PSAC championship and Atlantic Region run after their showdown with the Wildcats of Daemen.
