EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro men's and women's tennis programs will hit the road for weekend matches against West Chester University Friday, April 9 at noon and Millersville University Saturday, April 10 at noon
The men's program comes into the weekend contests winners of six straight and hold an unblemished 3-0 mark in PSAC play. Most recently, they picked up a huge Atlantic Region win over Fairmont State University Saturday.
Takahio Inoue (Osaka, Japan/Yanagawa) at number one singles has won five straight matches for the Fighting Scots with teammates Thibault Dorval, Gustavo Martins (Sao Carlos, Brazil), and Kaio Sacchi (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Santo Ivo) each winning six straight singles matches. Kai Chin Chen (Taipei, Taiwan) will also put his four-match win streak on the line this weekend.
Dating back to 2011, the Fighting Scots not lost to West Chester and have won eleven straight over the PSAC opponent. The Golden Rams come into Friday's action with a 3-1 record on the season and winners of three straight contests.
As for Saturday's match vs. Millersville, the Fighting Scots have won eight straight matches over the Marauders dating back to 2013. Millersville is 1-4 to begin the 2021 season and holds a 1-1 record in PSAC play.
On the women's side, the team will look to get back on track after falling to rival Slippery Rock on Saturday, April 3. First-year Kaede Tada (Kashiwa, Japan) has won four straight singles matches at the number one singles spot. She has also won two of her last three doubles matches with partner Torye Calleja (Anthem, Ariz./Boulder Creek).

The West Chester women's tennis team stands at 1-2 on the season and is coming off of a win vs. Shepherd Wednesday, April 7. The Fighting Scots will look to extend their match win streak over the Golden Rams to 11 straight matches this weekend.
The Millersville women's program stands at 2-2 to begin their season with a 2-0 conference mark. They will face Mercyhurst on Friday, April 9 before squaring off against Edinboro Saturday, April 10.
