Box Score (New/Sortable Format) Canton, Ohio – The Edinboro men's tennis team fell to the University of Charleston, 2-4 on Friday morning.
In Edinboro's third match of the season, they were overtaken by the Golden Eagles in the neutral site of Canton, Ohio. For Edinboro, Ruben Acuna and Gustavo Martins were the highlight of the afternoon in singles play. Acuna defeated John Giesberts in a tie breaker, 6-4, 7-6 (5) in singles play, and Martins topped Marshall Dagostine 6-2, 6-3.
In the remaining singles matches, Bruno Sabio fell to Daniel Llorente 4-6, 3-6. Thibault Dorval was defeated by Krish Patel 3-6, 4-6. Kaio Sacchi came up to short to Lennert Stevens 2-6, 1-6. The match between Rocco Palombarini and Jowan Rawson was never finished.
In Doubles play Palombarini and Sabio fell short to Dagostine and Giesberts in a tiebreaker 6-7, (10). The duo of Dorval and Sacchi was defeated by Potel and Llorente 5-7. In the final doubles match, Acuna and Chia Chun Chiang fell to Stevens and Rawson 1-6.
Edinboro will be back in action next tomorrow when they host West Virginia State University at 3 p.m.
