Box Score (New/Sortable Format) Erie, Pa. – The Edinboro men's tennis team took care of business on Saturday afternoon at Westwood Racquet Club as they defeated West Virginia State University 7-0. The Fighting Scots grabbed their first win of the spring season as they sit at (1-3) overall.
The peak perfomance in doubles play came from the top ranked PSAC player, Ruben Acuna and teammate Kaio Sacchi as they rolled past Ryan Mullins and Dom Reyes, 6-0. The biggest highlight in singles was Maksymilian Braziewicz dominating Chafe Kave 6-0, 6-1.
In the remaining singles matches, Bruno Sabio who is ranked second in the PSAC took down Paulo Gutierrez 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. Acuna defeated Alex Cottrell 6-2, 6-3. Gustavo Martins bested Ryan Mullins 6-4, 6-2. In the final singles match, Rocco Palombarini defeated Elias Valencia 6-3, 6-3.
In doubles Sabio and Palombarini took down Gutierrez and Flores 6-3. In the final doubles match, Braziewicz and Thibault Dorval defeated Cottrell and Valencia 6-2.
Edinboro will look to gain more momentum when they travel to Daemen College next Saturday.
