Men’s Tennis Prepares for Two Matches on the Road

Edinboro, Pa – The Edinboro men's tennis team prepares for another doubleheader this weekend on the road, with Daemen College on Friday and Carnegie Mellon University on Saturday.  

Last Time Out 

Last weekend Edinboro was in Canton, Ohio for a neutral site match against the University of Charleston in which they dropped 2-4. The Fighting Scots came away with two singles match wins from Ruben Acuna and Gustavo Martins.  

The following day Edinboro returned to their indoor facility at the Westwood Racquet Club in Erie, Pa, where they hosted West Virginia State University. The Fighting Scots defeated the Yellow Jackets convincingly with a 7-0 finish. Saturday's match was highlighted by the doubles match of Acuna and Kaio Sacchi who swept Ryan Mullins and Dom Reyes, 6-0. 

"Getting their first win against a regional opponent was big for their confidence. This weekend will not get any easier, but I think the guys will be up for the challenge."

Daemen Scouting Report 

Daemen College is a member of the East Coast Conference (ECC). Daemen kicked off its spring season by hosting Niagara University, the Wildcats fell to their opponent 1-6. In the loss, Luis de Vuyst grabbed the team's lone win in singles play. 

Carnegie Mellon Scouting Report 

Carnegie Mellon is a member of the President's Athletic Conference (PAC). The Tartans have completed five matches thus far this season and hold a (3-2) overall record. In their last match the Tartans fell to Tiffin University 3-4. Nicolas Wernink has played well this season, Wernink is (5-0) in singles play.
