Ashland, Ohio – The Edinboro indoor track team added an improved NCAA provisional time and three more PSAC Championship qualifiers after the Jud Logan Light Giver Open hosted by Ashland University Saturday.
Kylie Anicic improved on her NCAA Provisional time in the 3,000-meter run posting a time of 9:43.93 finishing third at the meet and currently holding the 15
th best mark in Division II. Anicic currently holds the best 3,000-meter time in the PSAC
Anna Alberti added a 10
th place finish in the 3,000 with a time of 9:58.66, and is currently third in the PSAC. Alberti placed seventh in the one-mile run with a time of 5:30.39. Already a PSAC qualifier, Alberti currently ranks third in the conference in the one-mile run as well.
The Scots picked up two conference meet qualifiers in the 5,000-meter run. Sheilah Cheruiyot, already a PSAC Qualifier in the 3,000-meter, posted a time of 18:25.34 to move to third in the PSAC and finish fifth at the meet.
Kate Szep finished right behind her in sixth with a time of 18:34.46 the seventh best mark in the PSAC.
Lauren Jacobs also turned in a PSAC qualifying run with a time of 2:19.94 in the 800-meter run. She now holds the fifth best mark in the conference.
In the 3,000-meter, Kimberly Goerrs crossed the line in a time of 10:16.31 to place 13
th.
Tifany Berry added a 32
nd place finish in the 3,000 with a time of 11:00.48. She also turned in a time of 5:30.39 in the one-mile run to finish in 33
rd.
Abby Piert ran a time of 8.24 in the 60-meter dash to finish 25
th and added a 33
rd place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.01.
Kenzie Lendon improved her PSAC qualifying weight throw with a toss of 14.65 meters.
The Scots are back in action on Friday and Saturday when they travel to the Grand Valley Big Meet.
