Box Score (New/Sortable Format) Queens, Ny. – The Edinboro men's tennis team fell in a close match against Saint Thomas Aquinas College, with a final score of 3-4 on Friday afternoon at the Queens College Tennis Center. The Scots drop to (5-5) overall on the season.
Edinboro began the match by clinching doubles play with two victories. The duo of Thibault Dorval and Maksymilian Braziewicz defeated Ivan Laiz and Valentin Baranyi 6-2.
Following them, the team of Ruben Acuna and Kaio Sacchi remained undefeated when they got past Odysseas Papaioannou and Maximilian Kendler 6-2.
In Singles play the Spartans would win four out of six matches, ultimately clinching the victory. For Edinboro, Bruno Sabio and Gustavo Martins brought home the two singles wins for the Scots. Sabio bested Kendler in a close battle 3-6, 6-2, 6-1. Martins got past Lennart Lehmann 6-4, 6-3.
In the final singles match Braziewicz was defeated by Laiz, 6-4, 5-7, 4-6 in a close match that ultimately clinched the Spartans victory.
Edinboro will return home next Saturday to open up PSAC play when they host West Chester University.
