Men’s Tennis Open PSAC Play by Hosting West Chester and Millersville

Edinboro, Pa – The Edinboro men's tennis team will return home to the Westwood Racquet Club in Erie, PA this weekend to open conference play with PSAC opponents, West Chester University of Pennsylvania and Millersville University. On Saturday the match with West Chester begins at 5:30 p.m. On Sunday, the match with Millersville begins at 12:30 p.m. 

Statistical Leaders 
With ten matches under their belt and a (5-5) record, the reigning PSAC men's tennis athlete of the week in Ruben Acuna leads the team in Singles play with a (9-1) record. 

Acuna is followed by Gustavo Martins who (6-4) in Singles. 

Thibault Dorval is the third Scot who currently holds a winning record in Singles play as he is (5-4). 

In Doubles play Dorval leads Edinboro with a (8-2) record, as he has teamed with Martins, Maksymilian Braziewicz, Kaio Sacchi, and Takahiro Inoue. 

Edinboro's best duo so far this season has been Acuna and Sacchi who have a perfect (6-0) record when they team up. 

Last Time Out 
On Friday the Fighting Scots fell 3-4 in a match against #35 St. Thomas Aquinas. Edinboro began the match by clinching doubles play with two victories. The duo of Dorval and Braziewicz defeated Ivan Laiz and Valentin Baranyi 6-2.  

Following them, the team of Acuna and Sacchi remained undefeated when they got past Odysseas Papaioannou and Maximilian Kendler 6-2. 

In Singles play the Spartans would win four out of six matches, ultimately clinching the victory. For Edinboro, Bruno Sabio and Martins brought home the two singles wins for the Scots. Sabio bested Kendler in a close battle 3-6, 6-2, 6-1. Martins got past Lennart Lehmann 6-4, 6-3.  
In the final singles match Braziewicz was defeated by Laiz, 6-4, 5-7, 4-6 in a close match that ultimately clinched the Spartans victory. 

West Chester Scouting Report 
West Chester is a member of PSAC conference of the Atlantic Region. West Chester currently holds an (0-4) overall record and has competed in one match so far this spring. In their one match against Mercyhurst, the Golden Rams lost 0-7. West Chester is led by Christoph Baroudi who is (1-2) in Singles play. 

Millersville Scouting Report 
Millersville is a member of PSAC conference out of the Atlantic Region. Millersville currently holds a (3-3) overall record and has lost three of their previous four matches. In their recent match against Northwood, the Marauders fell 2-5. Millersville is led by Carlos Lucas-Martinez, who is (9-5) in Singles play and (12-2) in Doubles.
