Edinboro, Pa – The Edinboro men's tennis team will travel to PSAC opponent Shepherd University on Saturday for a 1 p.m. start. Coming into the match, the Fighting Scots own the top spot in the PSAC conference with a (7-5) overall record.
Statistical Leaders
With twelve matches under their belt, Ruben Acuna leads the Scots in Singles play with a (11-1) record.
Acuna is followed by Thibault Dorval who is (7-4) in Singles.
Bruno Sabio and Gustavo Martins are both (7-5) in Singles.
Edinboro's best duo so far this season has been Acuna and Sacchi who have a perfect (8-0) record when they team up.
Dorval and Maksymilian Braziewicz follow with a (7-2) doubles record.
Last Time Out
Last Sunday Edinboro gained their second match win of the weekend when they defeated Millersville University 6-1. The Fighting Scots began the match by winning two of three doubles matches, ultimately clinching the doubles point. Bruno Sabio and Rocco Palombarini got things going early with a 6-3 victory over Frank Yanni and Carlos Martinez-Lucas. The dominant duo of Ruben Acuna and Kaio Sacchi added another doubles win when they took care of Santiago Ramos and Zach Pernia 6-1.
In singles Sabio would best Martinez-Lucas 6-4, 7-6. Acuna controlled Ramos 6-0, 6-4. Thibault Dorval continued the pattern of winning over Lino Morin 6-2, 6-0.
Sacchi helped clinch the win with his victory over Jasper De Koning 6-1, 6-3. Maksymilian Braziewicz closed out singles with a dominant win over Shaurya Piplani 6-4, 6-1.
Shepherd Scouting Report
Shepherd is a member of PSAC conference out of the Atlantic Region. Shepherd currently holds a (4-2) overall record and has yet to lose this spring winning three in a row. In their recent match against Webster, the Rams were victorious 5-2.
