New Wilmington, Pa. –
Kenzie Lendon set a school record in the hammer throw as the Fighting Scots competed at the Westminster Invitational Friday and Saturday.
Lendon's toss of 45.94 meters broke the previous mark of 43.37 held by Samantha Seaburn.
Kendra Rice and
Hannah Sedlak also competed in the hammer throw with distances of 34.56 meters and 33.81 meters respectively.
Lendon also posted a third-place finish in the shot put with a distance of 11.43 meters. Rice and Sedlak also posted top-10s. Rice finished fifth with a toss of 11.24 meters while Sedlak threw the shot 10.17 meters to finish ninth.
Jayna Galley posted a first-place high jump of 1.5 meters. She also finished seventh in the 100- meter hurdles with a time of 17.30.
Leah Czechowski added a 4.89 meter long jump good for third place.
Alicia Fritz tunred in a fifth-place mark in the javelin with a distance of 32.31 meters.
Tifany Berry picked up a first-place time of 39:41.91 in the 10K.
Kate Szep finished just behind her with a time of 39:42.26. In the 1500 meter run,
Lauren Jacobs crossed the line in 5:03.27 to finish third.
Olivia Roberts finished fourth in a time of 5:06.24.
Mallory Voegelin posted a 1:09.70 to finish in third in the 400 meter hurdles.
Bailee Miara finished sixth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:13.09.
For the men,
Trae Smith notched the second-best mark in the javelin with a distance of 55.69 meters.
Will Rodgers was sixth with a throw of 52.12.
Craig Zuccolotto added an eighth-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 11.98 meters.
Matt Wehrle turned in a time of 1:55.53 in the 800 meter to finish second.
Ward Ries and
Eric Alu crossed the line in second and third in the 5K with times of 14:55.72 and 15:01.31 respectively.
The Scots also had a strong showing in the 1500 meter run.
Dylan Binda turned in a time of 4:08.73 to finish fourth while
Cole Friend was fifth with a time of 4:09.74.
Edinboro will return to action later this week with trips to Kutztown and Bucknell Wednesday through Saturday.
