Wooster, Ohio – The Edinboro indoor track & field team got five first-place finishes in their opening meet of 2023 at the Wooster Open Saturday afternoon.
Kenzie Lendon was the first Scot to take top honors with her performance in the shot put. Lendon recorded a throw of 11.75 meters.
Jayna Galley added a fourth-place finish in the shot. Lendon also added a fourth-place throw of 13.44 meters in the weight throw. Galley posted a high-jump of 1.56 meters to finish third.
Mackenzie Fletcher earned the top spot in the 200-meter dash crossing the line in a time of 26.95. Right behind her was
Bernadette Zukina with a time of 27.80.
Bailee Miara also posted a scoring time of 28.8 good for sixth.
Zukina and Fletcher would trade places in the 400 meter with Zukina posting a time of 1:02.08 to take the top sport and Fletcher checking in at 1:03.13 to finish second. Miara was fifth with a time of 1:05.64.
Kimberly Goerss grabbed the top spot in the mile run with a time of 5:10.43. The Scots took the top three places in the 3000 meter run with
Kate Szep earning top billing in a time of 10:51.57.
Olivia Roberts was second in 11:12.50 and
Lauren Jacobs third in 11:20.22.
Mackenzie Huston posted a scoring time in the 60 meter hurdles coming in fourth with a time of 10.25.
