Men’s Tennis Travels to LeMoyne College

Syracuse, Ny. -- The Edinboro men's tennis team will travel to LeMoyne College for their first road match of the season and their biggest challenge yet. The match is scheduled for Friday at noon.

Edinboro
After another strong weekend, the Scots remain perfect with a (3-0) overall record. Edinboro's upcoming match against LeMoyne College will be their biggest challenge yet.

The Scot's will play their first match of the season on the road and will compete against a team that defeated them last season. Both the Scots and Dolphins both reached the NCAA Championship Round of 16 last year.

Last Time Out
The Edinboro men took care of business last weekend during their second weekend of the season. The Scots posted back-to-back wins over Salem and Carnegie Mellon.

On Saturday the Scots completed a clean 7-0 sweep over Salem at home. In singles Edinboro finished with six straight wins. Bruno Sabio and Manav Sreekumar were able to hang on for Edinboro in close matches that went into extra sets.

On Sunday Edinboro was back at home when they hosted division III nationally ranked Carnegie Mellon University. Ultimately, the Scots would prevail with a strong 5-2 victory. Although the match didn't start well in the favor of the Edinboro men. Carnegie Mellon would strike first by earning the doubles point.

The Tartans won two of three matches, with only the Edinboro duo of Sabio and Rocco Palombarini earning a doubles win. In singles the Scots would take over by winning five of six, which was enough to secure the win.

LeMoyne
The LeMoyne College Dolphins are from the East region and are a part of the Northeast-10 conference. The Dolphins are led by Head Coach Jeff Lonczak. Edinboro will be LeMoyne's first match of the season this spring.

The Scots are (2-1) all-time against the Tigers. Last time they competed was last season when Edinboro fell to LeMoyne 1-6. In that match Ruben Acuna would post Edinboro's lone win.

Watch for LeMoyne's Tom Jarry who was ranked the third best singles player in the East Region this past fall. Jarry defeated Sabio in singles 6-4, 6-4 last season.

Coming Up
After this weekend, Edinboro will head back home for a match against Frostburg State University on Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
