Lewisburg, Pa. – Behind a PSAC Championship Meet Most Valuable Athlete performance from Kylie Anicic, the Edinboro indoor track & field team finished second at the conference championship meet held at Gerhard Fieldhouse on the campus of Bucknell University.
 
Anicic finished first in the 5K, 3K and mile while also running the 1600-meter leg of the PSAC Champion distance medley relay team to earn the MVP honors.
 
Edinboro got off to a strong start to Day Two with Anicic and Kimberly Goerss finishing first and second in the mile. Anicic crossed the line in a time of 5:02.72 and Goerss turned in a time of 5:06.89 giving the Scots 18 points from the event.
 
After scoring a personal best in the 400 preliminaries on Saturday, Bernadette Zukina turned and ran faster on Sunday to finish third in the final with a time of 58.66.
 
In the 800-meter run, Lauren Jacobs posted a scoring time of 2:22.98 good for seventh place and two points.
 
The Scots had three scoring finishers in the 3K totaling 15 points. Anicic picked up her second gold-medal performance of the day with a time of 10:06.49. Goerss was fourth in a time of 10:17.41 while Kate Szep's time of 10:27.40 was good for eighth.
 
The team of Zukina, Mackenzie Fletcher, Jayna Galley and Jacobs ran a 4:07.47 in the 4x400 relay to finish in seventh.
 
The high jump was the final scoring event for Edinboro with Madeline Newark finishing in third with a height of 1.57 meters. Galley turned in a sixth-place finish with a height of 1.52 meters.
 
The Scots await the selections for indoor nationals which will be released by the NCAA on Tuesday.
