Slippery Rock, Pa. – The Edinboro women's track & field team had a strong second day of the PSAC Championships headlined by a PSAC Championship performance from
Madeline Newark.
Newark entered Friday leading the heptathlon and she continued to pace the field on day two. She finished with 4745 finishing 154 points ahead of the second-place finisher Kat Henderson of Cal.
Bernadette Zukina ran in the 400-meter preliminaries and her time of 57.06 was the fourth fastest time and put her through to Saturday's final. In the 800-meter,
Eliza Miller earned the last spot in Saturday's final, crossing the line in 2:20.18.
After entering the discus throw seeded 19
th,
Anna Elder recorded a distance of 39.59 on her final throw of the event to earn seventh and add two team points for the Scots.
Maddison Doren also scored for Edinboro placing eighth in the long jump with 5.45 meter jump on her first attempt.
In the final event of the day,
Katie Slimon posted a time of 11:26.52 in the 3K steeplechase to place fourth.
The Scots will close out PSAC Championship action on Saturday in Slippery Rock.
