Ashland, Ohio – The Edinboro indoor track & field team had a strong showing at the Jud Logan Light Giver Open Friday and Saturday.
Kate Szep posted a pair of PSAC Championship auto-qualifying performances. In the 3K, Szep crossed the line in 10:37.48 finishing 15
th at the Open and as the PSAC's eighth best time this season. She won the 5K and turned in the conferences third best time, behind teammates
Kylie Anicic and
Kimberly Goerss, finishing in 17:52.75.
Kenzie Lendon also posted a PSAC auto-qualifying performance in the weight throw. Her toss of 14.35 meters is the 11
th best mark in the PSAC this season.
Jayna Galley won the pentathlon scoring a PSAC-best score of 3190.
Madeline Newark finished eighth at the open scoring 2806 points which ranks fifth in the PSAC.
Mallory Voegelin was 10
th in the pentathlon with a score of 2364.
The Edinboro Distance Medley team of Goerss, Anicic,
Bernadette Zukina and
Lauren Jacobs ran a PSAC-best 12:05.56 to finish third at the open.
Olivia Roberts added a sixth-place finish in the 5K with a time of 18:57.89. Sheilah Cheruiyot crossed the line in seventh with a time of 18:57.89.
The Scots are back in action on Feb. 17 with a trip to the Penn State Last Chance.
