Men’s Tennis Begins Road Trip

Buckhannon, W Va. -- The Edinboro men's tennis team will hit the road as they begin their trip down south that will consist of five matches spanning across seven days. On Friday, the Scots will go head-to-head with Davis & Elkins College with the match beginning at noon. On Sunday, Edinboro will travel to Charlotte, North Carolina to battle Queens University of Charlotte. Sunday's match will also begin at noon. 

Last Time Out 
In their previous match the Edinboro men earned their third sweep of the season with their 7-0 win over Daemen College.  

Sunday's win concluded their undefeated weekend at home after Friday's match also ended with an Edinboro sweep over Frostburg State. 

Edinboro 
The Edinboro men enter the weekend with a (5-1) overall record and sit at the top of the PSAC standings with the best non-conference record. 

In six matches played, Manav Sreekumar leads the Scots in singles with a perfect (5-0) record. Ruben Acuna and Finn Unger match Sreekumar with five wins, as they both sit at (5-1) overall in singles. 

Acuna and Kaio Sacchi are tied with Bruno Sabio and Rocco Palombarini for the team lead in doubles. Both teams are (5-1) this season. 

Davis & Elkins 
The Davis & Elkins Senators are from the Moutain East Conference and are led by head coach Marc Walters. The Senators are (0-1) overall after their recent 3-4 match loss to Belmont Abbey. 

Queens University of Charlotte 
Queens University of Charlotte belongs to the ASUN Conference and is led by head coach Michael Cabana. The Royals are (2-7) overall after their most recent match, when they swept Johnson C. Smith University 7-0  

Coming Up 
After this weekend, Edinboro will continue their road trip as they head further south. The Scots will face off against Belmont Abbey College on Monday followed by Francis Marion University on Wednesday.
