Slippery Rock, Pa. – The Edinboro track & field teams took on the elements as well as a loaded field at the weather delayed Dave Labor Invitational hosted by Slippery Rock University Saturday.
In spite of the weather, the Fighting Scot women turned in nine PSAC qualifying times while the men added three more PSAC performances.
A trio of Fighting Scots earned PSAC qualifying times in the 10K.
Kate Szep was the first woman to cross the finish line in the mixed event with a time of 39:59.35. Oliva Roberts and
Alexa Trax were third and fourth with times of 40:48.91 and 40:58.85 respectively.
The distance runners also picked up conference qualifying times in the 1,500-meter run.
Sheliah Cheruiyot crossed the line in 4:54.46 good for 4
th.
Kimberly Goerss was sixth with a time of 4:56.31.
Lauren Jacobs also competed in the 1,500 with a time of 5:28.68.
The 4x100 relay team of
Bernadette Zukina, Mackenzie Fleter,
Mackenzie Huston and
Bailee Miara came in fifth with a PSAC qualifying time of 50.58.
Zukina also ran the 400-meter coming in second with a time of 59.95. Huston competed in the 100-meter hurdles and was 18
th in a time of 16.65. Fletcher added a PSAC qualifying mark of 5.45 meters in the long jump to finish fourth at the meet.
Kenzie Lendon posted a pair of conference qualifying marks first with a 45.45 meter throw in the hammer to finish third before a fourth-place throw of 12.37 meters in the shot put. Lendon also threw in the discus finishing 15
th with a toss of 30.14 meters.
Ryann Brundage and
Hannah Cox each threw the javelin with Brundage throwing 40.27 meters to finish third and Cox a 12
th-place mark of 31.15 meters.
Madeline Newark and
Jayna Galley tied for seventh in the high jump clearing 1.5 meters. Newark and Galley also ran the 100-meter hurdles with Galley crossing the line in 17.16 while Newark finished in a time of 17.44.
Megan Gourley and Skylar Blough each ran the 100-meter hurdles as well in times of 18.27 and 18.73 respectively.
Mallory Voegelin was 12
th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:23.71. Blough also ran the 100-meter dash with a time of 14.09.
On the men's side, two Fighting Scots earned conference qualifying distances in the javelin.
Will Rodgers posted a throw of 49.27 meters good for sixth while
Bobby Yost throw of 46.01 meters earned him 13
th.
Dylan Leach was the third Scot to qualify for the conference meet with a jump of 5.93 meters in the long jump. Leach was also 38
th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.05.
Edinboro entered five runners in the 800-meter run led by a time of 2:12.79 from
Ian Brown.
Nick Northrup crossed the line in 2:14.94 for 31
st.
Connor Volk-Klos,
Ward Ries and
Nick Amos finished checked in with times of 2:17.79, 2:17.84 and 2:17.92 respectively.
Danny Desmond finished 16
th in the 1,500 with a time of 4:11.02. Brown added a time of 4:18.75 and Northrup checked in at 4:44.97.
Frank Barger ran a time of 18.74 in the 110-meter hurdles good for 13
th while Stephen Dimitridais was 18
th in the 400-meter hurdles in 55.50.
Noah Rimmer posted a throw of 25.74 meters in the discus and 8.36 meters in the shot put.
