Erie, Pa. – The Edinboro men's tennis scored a 4-3 win over visiting LeMoyne Saturday afternoon at the Westwood Racquet Club.
Edinboro found themselves down 1-0 after doubles play. The Dolphins top pair of Peter Hatton and Adrian Daniel tallied a 6-4 victory over
Rocco Palombarini and
Fabricio Sosa Pons.
Stanislas Noel and
Thomas Buchard dropped a 6-4 decision to Callum Matthew and Lorenzo Bortolaso. LeMoyne completed the double sweep with Luke Hoyland and Jacob Maravillas scoring a 6-4 win over Liam Grassnickel and
Nils Weskamp.
Hatten scored a 6-3, 6-2 decision over
Mathis Amsellem to push the lead to 2-0. The Scots got on a roll with Noel defeating Maravillas 6-0, 7-5 at number two.
Buchard picked up the win for Edinboro at number three with a 6-1, 6-4 score over Hoyland. Pons added a win for the Scots at number four with a three-set decision 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 over Bortolaso.
Navya Verma was a 6-3, 6-2 winner over
Arsen Tabaldyev to level the score 3-3.
Guillermo Rodriguez scored a 6-1, 6-3 win over Yegor Boyev at number six giving the Scots the victory.
The Scots are back in action next Sunday with a trip to Daemen.
