Lima, Ohio – The Edinboro men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Northwestern Ohio Saturday afternoon.
Leon Grassnickel and
Nils Weskamp were 6-1 winners at number three doubles over Nils Messin and Mete Koseoglu, but the Racers took the top two doubles slots to earn the doubles point.
Northwestern Ohio claimed the first five singles matches with Koseoglu scoring a 7-6, 6-2 win over
Stanislas Noel. At number two Lucas Perez topped
Thomas Buchard 6-4, 6-2. Francisco Perez defeated
Fabricio Sosa Pons 6-0, 6-2 at number three.
Rocco Palombarini picked up the singles victory for the Scots 6-2, 6-3 over Messin in the sixth flight. Arsen Tabaleyev dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision to Lucas Grana.
Guillermo Rodriguez won the opening set at number five 6-2, but Florian Smalto won the second 6-3 and the third 10-4 to close out the match.
The Scots are back in action on Sunday with a trip to Hillsdale.
