Ashland, Ohio – The Edinboro women's track & field team competed at the Jud Logan Light Giver Open on Friday and Saturday.
 
Madeline Newark led the Edinboro effort with a ninth-place finish in the pentathlon. Her 3303 in an NCAA provisional score and the 37^th best score in the country to date.
 
The Scots put five runners in the 3K. Kate Szep crossed the line in 10:20.00 to take eighth while Magdalena Jakubowska was ninth in 10:21.24. Both of those times improved on their PSAC qualifying times. Kadi Bauer finished in 10:37.44 to take 16^th. Alexa Trax posted a time of 10:40.95 to take 21^st while Lily Bement was 55^th with a time of 12:32.13.
 
Bernadette Zukina improved on her PSAC qualification time in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.31. She also ran the 60-meter dash finishing in 7.97 to take 24^th. Jacey Cihak also ran the 400-meter taking 47^th with a time of 1:05.32.
 
The Edinboro distance medley relay team of Jakubowska, Mackenzie Huston, Madeline Hammond and Bauer finished sixth with a time of 12:36.20.
 
In the 800-meter, Katie Shope was the first Scot across the line in 2:28.60 to take 49^th. Hammond turned in a 63^rd place finish in a time of 2:32.04.
 
Anna Elder threw the weight 15.29 meters to take 14^th. Jillian Kline was 79^th in the weight throw with a distance of 10.17 meters. Elder also threw the shot put posting a distance of 11.41 meters to take 29^th. Eden Rush added a throw of 8.78 meters good for 70^th.
 
Three Scots competed in the long jump led by a 16^th place performance from Maddison Doren with a distance of 5.14 meters. Mackenzie Fletcher was 27^th with a jump of 4.93 meters. Kaci Smith jumped 3.91 meters for 53^rd place.
 
The Scots return to action next Friday at the Grand Valley State Big Meet.
