Bethlehem, Pa. – The Edinboro indoor track & field team set a pair of school records and earned three all-conference honors on the first day of the PSAC Championships.
Madeline Newark led the way for the Scots winning the PSAC title in the pentathlon scoring a school record 3,487 points. She took first place in three of the five events: the 60-meter hurdles, high jump and the 800-meter. She was fourth in the shot put and the long jump.
The second school record came from
Anna Elder in the weight throw. Her toss of 16.7 meters broke the school record and earned her all-conference honors with a second-place finish.
In the 5K,
Kate Szep ran an 18:02.34 placing third and earning All-PSAC honors. The Scot distance relay team of
Magdalena Jakubowska,
Mackenzie Huston, Katie Shope and
Kadi Bauer took sixth with a time of 12:28.5.
In the preliminaries of the 200-meter dash,
Bernadette Zukina used a fifth-place finish in 25.66 to qualify for tomorrow's finals.
The Scots are fourth after the first day with 27 points. The meet resumes on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
