Morgantown, W.Va. – The Edinboro men's track & field team started the 2025 season at the 49er Classic and the Marty Pushkin Invitational this weekend.
Connor Munson traveled to the 49er Classic on Thursday. Munson turned in an NCAA provisional score in the decathlon of 6438 points.
In Morgantown, the rest of the Scots kicked off their 2025 season.
Avon Rouse was eighth in the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.39 seconds. Jayvon Newkirk turned in a time of 12.14 seconds to place 24
th.
A trio of Scots competed in the 800 led by Ethan Quezada who was sixth in a time of 1:58.55.
Aaron Myers crossed the line in 1:59.53 to take ninth while
Garrett Bartlebaugh was 16
th in a time of 2:03.51.
Edinboro had three runners in a tight pack in the 1500.
Aivan Vargas was 15
th in a time of 4:20.22.
Coleton Fisher was 17
th finishing in 4:21.92 and
Ackerly Mulcaster crossed the line in 4:23.47 to take 18
th.
PJ Berger ran the 5K crossing the line in 15:59.93 to take 13
th.
Hayden Skinner brought home first place in the 110-meter hurdles win a time of 15.78. He also combined with Rouse, Newkirk and Braden Hain to take second in the 4x100 relay with a time of 43.05.
The Scots took the top two spots in the 4x400 relay with Rouse, Quezada, Bartlebaugh and Skinner taking first in 3:31.76 and Myers, Fisher, Vargas and Hain coming in second in a time of 3:42.11.
In the field events,
Kaden Velasquez was 27
th in the shot put with a distance of 10.19 meters. Trevor Neumann was 30
th with a throw of 9.83 meters.
Neumann led the three Scots in the discus with a throw of 34.58 meters to take 15
th. Velasquez threw 33.67 meters to take 18
th while
Bobby Yost was 19
th with a throw of 33.06 meters. Yost threw the javelin 47.73 meters to place fifth.
The Scots are back in action on Friday at Carnegie Mellon.
