Erie, Pa. – The Edinboro men's tennis team scored a pair of wins on Friday and Saturday against Fairmont State and Bloomsburg,
Against Fairmont State on Friday, the Scots scored a 4-2 victory. The Falcons scored the doubles points winning the number two and number three.
Rocco Palombarini and
Leon Grassnickel defeated Gabriel Masu and Haruto Kusunoki 6-2 at the top doubles spot.
Stanislas Noel picked up the win over Kan Watanabe 6-3, 6-4 at number one singles. Kusunoki put the Falcons up 2-1 with a 6-4, 2-6, 7-5 victory over
Mathis Amsellem at number two singles.
Thomas Buchard leveled the score 2-2 with a 6-0, 6-1 win at number three over Masu.
Fabricio Sosa Pons defeated Hugo Lena 6-4, 6-3 at number four and Grassnickel closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Mohamed Mostafa Moens at number five.
The Scots came back on Saturday with a 7-0 sweep of Bloomsburg.
Amsellem and Noel were 6-1 winners over Iu Casamitjana Badies and Denis Dementev at number two doubles.
Guillermo Rodriguez and
Arsen Tabaldyev defeated Fernando Barros and Jaime Soria 6-1.
Noel defeated Dementev 7-5, 7-5 at number one doubles. Amsellem was a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Vishesh Patel at number two.
At number three singles, Buchard tallied a 6-4, 6-1 victories over Badies. Sosa rallied from a set down to score a 4-6, 7-5 and 11-9 tiebreaker victory over Albert Martin.
Grassnickel was a 6-3, 6-4 winner at number five over Higurea and Palomabarini won at number six 6-4, 7-6 to close the match.
The Scots are back in action on Sunday when they host Kutztown at 3 p.m.
