Edinboro, Pa. -- The Edinboro women's cross country and track & field teams placed five athletes on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District squad announced Tuesday afternoon.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Women's Track & Field teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track, in the field, and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's track& field honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Kadi Bauer,
Mackenzie Huston,
Madeline Newark,
Kate Szep and
Bernadette Zukina all made the All-District Team.
Bauer, an exercise science major, was 15th in the Atlantic Region in cross country while also holding top-25 regional performances in indoor in the mile and the 3k as well as outdoor in the 1,500 and the 800. Huston, an early childhood education major, was 25th in the Atlantic Region in the 400 meter hurdles.
Newark, a mathematics major, turned in the top performance in the Atlantic Region in the heptathlon ranking 35th in the nation. She added seven top-50 regional performances including ranking 3rd in the Atlantic and 30th nationally in the pentathlon. Szep, a nursing major, qulaified for NCAA nationals in cross country finishing fifth at the Atlantic Regional. She was eighth in the region in the indoor 5K and 10th in the outdoor 5k and 12th in the indoor 3K.
Zukina, a psychology major, ranked second in the Atlantic Region in the outdoor 400 and 42nd nationally with a time of 54.77. In the indoor 400, she was seventh in the region and 86th ntionally with a time of 56.47. She was laso top 30 in the Atlantic Region indoor and outdoor in the 200 meter.
