STORYLINE
Edinboro opens its 2012-13 home schedule as it hosts Wayne State (MI) on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. inside McComb Fieldhouse. It is the first game of a doubleheader with the Boro men as Edinboro's men's basketball team hosts Penn State Beaver at 3 p.m. The Fighting Scots enter Saturday ranked No. 15 in the country following a season-opening split at the Glenville State Classic.

SCOUTING THE WARRIORS
Wayne State travels to Edinboro for just its second game of the season after opening last Saturday with a 75-71 loss vs. Lewis University at home. Wayne State fi nished last season at 12-14 under fi rst-year head coach Carrie Lohr. The Warriors are looking to return to the GLIAC Tournament for the fi rst time since 2008 after a ninth place fi nish in the conference a year ago.  Wayne State returns six letterwinners from last year's squad and four of its starters and six seniors in all with Paige Sickmiller leading the returners. After averaging 12.2 points last year, Sickmiller was one of 11 Division II players selected for a spot in the Italy Continental Cup as she represented Team USA, helping the American team to a 4-1 record. Phaebre Colbert added 12 points and 6.5 rebounds last season while Juanita Cochran paced the Warriors on the boards with 8.5 rebounds per night.

MILESTONE WATCH
Senior Samantha Blazetic could hit a career milestone during Saturday's game vs. Wayne State as she enters the day needing just nine points to hit 1,000 for her career with Edinboro. Her 21-point performance at Glenville State moved her to 991 during three-plus seasons with the Boro.

Fellow senior Kiara Brown just hit the 1,000-point plateau for her career with 11 points at Glenville State to move to 1,010 in three-plus collegiate seasons. Brown tallied 211 points during her freshman season at California (Pa.) and officially has 799 points in an Edinboro uniform after transferring following the 2009-10 season.

HOME FIRES BURNING
Edinboro has been excellent in home-openers under head coach Stan Swank. During the Swank era, the Fighting Scots have posted a 23-2 record when opening their McComb Fieldhouse slate and have won their last seven home-openers. Edinboro's last home-opening loss came vs. Gannon, 63-62, in 2004.

SCOTS OPEN SEASON AT GLENVILLE STATE CLASSIC
The Fighting Scots split a pair of season-opening games at the Glenville State Classic Nov. 9-10 and have had a two week layoff following a win vs. West Liberty (90-71) and loss at Glenville State (101-82). Edinboro shot 53 percent from the fi eld in the second half to race past West Liberty in the fi rst game as six players scored in double figures. Darche' Jackson led the way with a double-double (17 points, 10 rebounds) in just 24 minutes of action. Things did not go so well the next night, however, as Edinboro dug itself a hole it could not get out from during the first half against Glenville State. After missing their fi rst 14 shots from the fi eld, Glenville, which received votes in the preseason Top 25, went on a 20-4 tear and scored 56 points during the fi rst half to take a 56-31 lead to intermission. The Boro outscored Glenville, 51-45, during the second half, but the late rally wasn't enough. Samantha Blazetic paced Edinboro with 21 points and 10 boards.

KEEPING THEIR HEADS ABOVE WATER
Edinboro enters Saturday's game at 1-1 following its season-opening trip to the Glenville State Classic. The Fighting Scots will attempt to keep their streak of playing at or above .500 alive with a win vs. Wayne State - Edinboro has not been below .500 since losing two consecutive games to finish the 2008-09 season at 13-14.

PICKING UP WHERE SHE LEFT OFF
Redshirt sophomore Laurel Lindsay made an emphatic return to the lineup after a year away following an ACL injury in April 2011. In the season-opener against West Liberty, Lindsay matched her career-high of 16 points in the victory, adding three assists and three steals in 31 minutes.
