In the final home regular season match of the season, Edinboro will be playing East Stroudsburg in a game each team is looking for a victory to improve its playoff standing. The game begins at the early time of 1:00 p..m., a rare afternoon weekday game. With Millersville 2-0 loss to Slippery Rock on Wednesday, October 30, it locked up a PSAC Tournament appearance for the Fighting Scots. They are currently fifth in the PSAC with 28 points, a 11-4-1 overall record, and 9-4-1 record in conference. The Warriors, on the other hand, have fallen out of the top eight and are two points behind Mercyhurst for the final playoff spot. East Stroudsburg comes in with an 8-6-2 overall record and 7-6-2 conference record.
Edinboro comes into the match 8-1-1 over its last ten games. They defeated Mansfield 3-0 last Saturday in its sixth shutout of the season. The Fighting Scots are led in points and goals by
Liz Debo. She became only the fifth Fighting Scot to register double-digit goals in a season more than once (accomplished it last season as well) on Saturday, as she has ten goals and 22 points this year.
Meghan Kelly has been in net the majority of the year, receiving every start. She has a 1.02 goals against average and 11-4-1 record.
The Warriors come in on a two-game losing streak. They are lead by Shea Neal who paces the team with six goals and 15 points. In net, Brittain Wagner has only missed 15 minutes of action and is amongst the conference leaders in goals against average at 0.84. She sports an 8-6-2 record.
The Fighting Scots have won each of the last four matches in this series. Edinboro trails by two points to host a playoff game. Both Kutztown and Shippensburg have 30 points and are tied for third ahead of Edinboro. Only one spot is still open to make the playoffs and it is between East Stroudsburg, Mercyhurst, Indiana (Pa.), and Millersville for the final slot. This is the Warriors final game of the season so if they lose or tie, they are eliminated. If they win, then they will need Mercyhurst to lose on Saturday to Kutztown.
