Key Players
Edinboro
#13 Aignee' Freeland (F/C, 6-3, So.) - Opening the season in dominant fashion, Freeland has double-doubles in each game thus far. She is averaging 17.0 points per game and 16.0 rebounds per game. Including her 20 points against California (Pa.) to cap off last year, she has scored at least 16 points in each of her last three contests.
#11 Laurel Lindsay (G/F, 5-11, Jr.) - Lindsay is coming off a strong, well-balanced effort against Pitt-Johnstown. Against the Lady Cats, she scored 16 points while pulling down seven rebounds and dishing out five assists. Lindsay continuing to grab rebounds could be key against Winston-Salem State, as the Lady Rams boast a tall line-up with four of their starting five standing 5'11" or taller.
Winston-Salem State
#19 Dionna Scott (F, 5-11, Jr.) -Â Scott is coming off a strong game against Virginia Union. In the victory, she scored 19 points and pulled in six rebounds. It was the second consecutive game in which she led the team in scoring and she ranks second on the team with 11.5 points per game.
#42 Jovanah Graham (F, 6-0, Jr.) -Â The third-leading scorer on the team with eight and a half points per game and second in rebounding with over five per game, Graham has been a key factor in Lady Rams' victories. In their two wins, she has averaged nine points and nine and a half rebounds per game. In Winston-Salem State's two losses, Graham has totaled just four rebounds.
STORYLINE
Picking up a PSAC victory in its first conference test of the season, the Edinboro women's basketÂball now returns home to take on Winston-Salem State. Each of these teams are receiving votes in the USA Today Division II poll. This is the second of four games for the Fighting Scots this season that will occur outside of the PSAC and the first of two games against the Lady Rams. Edinboro is looking to begin the season 3-0 for the fourth time in the last five seasons. The Fighting Scots are off to a great start offensively, averaging 86 points per game, but Winston-Salem State has a stiÂfling defense that has allowed over 61 points just once this season (a 73-68 loss to open the season at Elon). The Lady Rams have also forced an average of 20 turnovers per game while the Fighting Scots are turning it over only 12.5 times per game.
Â
SCOUTING WINSTON-SALEM STATE
The Lady Rams continue their slate of non-conference games to open the season, as this is the fifth of ten games that will come out of the CIAA to being the season for them. Winston-Salem State has made its mark on defense thus far this year. However, they have lost both games they allowed over 60 points and are just 1-2 on the road. Two of the Lady Rams leading players, Jasmine Elum and Amanda Hairston, are seniors who transferred into the program from Bethune-Cookman, a Division I program. Elum leads all the Lady Rams with 12.3 points per game while Hairston is among the team leaders in rebounds per game with five and half per game. Dionna Scott leads the team in rebounds per game, hauling in over six a game. Scott is also averaging 11.5 points, the second most on the team. The Lady Rams have been balanced in scoring this year, as three different players have led them in scoring. Winston-Salem State has had three consecutive winning seasons after going 2-28 in 2009-10.

SERIES HISTORY VS. THE LADY RAMS
First Meeting
This is the first time these two programs have ever met. It will not be the last though, as these two meet in again in little over a month. Winston-Salem State will be hosting the Fighting Scots on December 31, the second of four straight road games for Edinboro.

LAST TIME OUT - EDINBORO 91, PITT-JOHNSTOWN 80
The Fighting Scots had to overcome another first half deficit to pick up their second win of the season, a 91-80 victory over Pitt-Johnston. This was Edinboro's first PSAC West game of the season. The Lady Cats held a 39-38 advantage at halftime. The score was tied three times with the lead changing five times in the first half alone. Pitt-Johnstown was propelled in large part due to 11 points from Kayla DeCriscio and 10 points from Nicole Carman, each hitting two three-pointers in the first half.
Hope Mancini continued her strong play with eight first half points. The Fighting Scots turned things around in the second half, shooting 55.6 percent while limiting the Lady Cats to 39.4 from the field.
Aignee' Freeland dominated throughout, but was particular strong in the second half, scoring 14 points and pulling in nine rebounds. She finished with her second double-double of the season, totaling 18 points and 17 rebounds.
Katie Collins contributed a career-high 15 points off of the bench, while
Laurel Lindsay and
Valerie Majewski each had double-digit second half points. It was Pitt-JohnÂstown's first home PSAC game since entering the conference.
