STORYLINE
After over a week off for final exams, the Edinboro women's basketball team returns to action with two games in two days. The Fighting Scots will take on Bloomsburg Tuesday, December 17 and follow that with East Stroudsburg the next day. The Huskies defeated Edinboro in each meeting last year including knocking the Scots out of the PSAC Tournament during the semi-finals, 76-73. Edinboro has won 13 straight games against the Warriors.

#13 Aignee' Freeland (F/C, 6-3, So.) – Coming off a career-best 31 points,
Aignee' Freeland is looking for her first double-digit scoring game against Bloomsburg. She averaged 5.0 points per game last year against the Huskies.
#21 Nicole Johnson (F, 5-10, Fr.) –
Nicole Johnson had a career-high 8 rebounds in her return to the starting line-up against California (Pa.) after pulling in 6 against Seton Hill. Bloomsburg and East Stroudsburg rank fourth and sixth in the PSAC respectively in rebounding margin. Johnson will need to continue to aide Freeland inside.

#15 Catherine Noack (G, 5-9 Sr.) – Catherine Noack ranks second in the PSAC in points per game and third in the conference in 3-point field goal percentage. She is coming off a career-high 26 points against Shippensburg but faces a Fighting Scots team that is first in the conference in 3-point field goal defense (.211).
#25 Adreana Sadowski (F, 6-0, R-So.) – Adreana Adowski has been a consistent presence for the Huskies, scoring in double-figures in five of their seven games. She also ranks third in the PSAC in field goal percentage, shooting just over 58 percent.
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
Bloomsburg is off to a 5-2 overall start on the season and rank among the PSAC's best in multiple statistical categories. The Huskies lead the conference in field goal percentage (.455) and free throw percentage (.784). In addition, Bloomsburg ranks fourth in points per game with 80.4 per game and third in scoring defense, allowing just 63.3 per game. They are led by senior guard Catherine Noack. The Bethlehem native is second in the PSAC in scoring at 20 points per contest. Adreana Sadowski is the only other player on the Huskies averaging double-digits, as she is second on the team with 14.4 points per game. The 6'0" redshirt sophomore also leads the team with 6.6 rebounds per game. The Huskies have 10 players that average over 10 minutes a game and have had eight different players to start this season.

Last Meeting - March 8, 2013, Bloomsburg 76, Edinboro 73 (PSAC Semifinal)
Each of these teams have traded sweeps in the last two years, as this non-division match-up has seen a regular season game and PSAC Tournament game in each year. Last year the Huskies got the better of the Fighting Scots, with a 84-59 victory early in the season and then a close 76-73 win in the PSAC Semifinal. Despite shooting just 33.3 percent in each half, Edinboro kept it close against a Huskies team that shot 44.8 percent for the game. With 56 seconds remaining,
Laurel Lindsay cut the deficit to just one as she converted an and-one opportunity. Lindsay then came up with a steal and the Fighting Scots were able to attempt two shots, but neither went. The Huskies got the rebound on the second attempt and were fouled. Dana Wieller made each free throw for the Huskies to go ahead by three.
Lauren Hippo was able to attempt a three-pointer as time expired but missed.
Kiara Brown led all scorers with 22 points while Lindsay had a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Aignee' Freeland had a career-high 31 points in Edinboro's last outing, a 81-70 victory against California (Pa.). Freeland also registered a double-double, pulling in 10 rebounds. Each of Freeland's highest scoring games have come against Cal, including a 20-point effort last year. The Fighting Scots never trailed in the game and limited the Vulcans to shooting 38.6 percent from the floor.
Shippensburg 92, Bloomsburg 83
Bloomsburg had a difficult time containing Shippensburg's Sarah Strybuc, allowing her to score 33 points. Strybuc shot 11-for-14 from the floor including making six-of-eight 3-pointers. The Lady Raiders also received double-digit point performances from three other players and outscored Bloomsburg 27-5 from the free throw line. Catherine Noack scored a career-high 26 points, the fifth time in the last six games she has scored at least 20 points.

#44 Jessica Martin (F, 6-0, Jr.) – Jessica Martin continues to lead the Warriors, as she is tops on the team in points and rebounds. She is coming off a double-double and has scored in double-digits in all but one game this year.
SCOUTING EAST STROUDSBURG
After winning three straight games, East Stroudsburg lost to Millersville last time out and comes in at 4-4 overall. The Warriors are 16th in the PSAC in points per game (63.9 ppg) and 17th in field goal percentage (.376) but rank among the best teams defensively, allowing only 61.5 points (second) and opposing teams are shooting just .368 from the floor (secnd). Jessica Martin leads the East Stroudsburg in scoring. The junior forward is averaging 13.3 ppg and also leads the team in rebounding with 8.4 rpg. Allison Howard is second in both points and rebounding, at 10.9 ppg and 7.1 rpg. Sophomore guard Helena Gemmell is first on the team and tops in the PSAC with 3.9 steals per game. She is also third on the team with 5.0 rpg and had her first career double-digit scoring game against Millersville.

Last Meeting - January 12, 2013, Edinboro Won 95-60
Edinboro continued its winning streak in this series, defeating East Stroudsburg by 35 points last year in a 95-60 victory. Andrea Veres led all scoreres for the Warriors with 22 points, but the Fighting Scots had five players score in double-digits. The Scots also pulled down 23 offensive rebounds in the contest and shot 45.8 percent on 3-pointers.

Virginia Union 64, East Stroudsburg 55
Despite double-doubles from its two leading scorers Jessica Martin and Allison Howard, East Stroudsburg lost to Virginia Union on the road. It was only the third time in the last decade that the Warriors have received a double-double from two players in the same game. The Warriors allowed Ashlee Freeman to score 30 points for the Panthers as they dropped to 0-3 on the road this year. Martin also swatted away four shots in the game and moved into the top 20 in PSAC history for blocks.
