Wheelchair Basketball Hosts Boro Tournament

EDINBORO, Pa. (Feb. 3, 2013) -- The Edinboro Fighting Scots Wheelchair Basketball squad hosted the Boro Tournament Feb. 1-2, 2013 in McComb Fieldhouse.  Teams from the University of Alabama, the University of Illinois, the University of Missouri, and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater all sent representatives to Edinboro for the tournament.
 
On day one, Edinboro opened action against the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, falling 66-36.  D.J. Murray had six points, and Dan Curran and Cyle Schriver added five apiece. Up next for Boro was Missouri. The Fighting Scots were unable to get past the Tigers, taking a 68-31 loss.  Jake Shafer and Schriver led Edinboro with eight points apiece.  The Edinboro women jumped into the action, taking on the Alabama women.  The Crimson Tide were too much for the Fighting Scots, and Boro fell 48-10.  The men headed back out on the court to battle with Illinois.  The Fighting Illini moved past the Fighting Scots 64-30 in that tussle.  The Edinboro women rounded out the first day of action, dropping a 68-20 decision to Illinois.

Day two brought more action in McComb, as the Boro women dropped a 65-16 decision to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.  The men then tangled with Alabama, losing 64-25 to the Crimson Tide.  Murray led Edinboro with seven points and four rebounds, while Schriver notched six points.  The women were once again on the court, taking on Illinois in what would eventually become a 61-14 loss for Edinboro.  The men battled with Alabama once again, but were unable to pull out a victory, losing 61-39.  Shafer led all Edinboro scorers with 18 points and added six rebounds.  John Herndon added seven points and Murray added six for the Fighting Scots.

Edinboro returns to action on Feb. 15 as they travel to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Tournament.
