Edinboro opened the game with eight unanswered goals, including three of DeReamer's four. The Fighting Scots defense kept West Virginia Wesleyan off the board for the first 13:41 of the game.
Edinboro scored one more before the half, that by
Shannon Rohrich, to lead 9-1 at the half. The Scots opened the second stanza with three by three different players to put them up 12-1.
West Virginia Wesleyan answered back with two goals of their own in the space of 1:02, but freshman goalie
Autumn Held would shut them out for the final 21:10 to earn the victory.
Rohrich had two goals. DeReamer and Will both added one assist each to go along with their four goals.
Jenny Wirth and
Rebecca Martin joined Rohrich with two goals apiece.
Hannah Mong and
Katie Magee rounded out the scoring for Edinboro with one goal each.
Edinboro continues with another game on Saturday at Alderson Broaddus before heading to North Carolina, where they will face off against Catawba and Lees-McRae next Friday and Saturday.
The game tomorrow is scheduled for 12 noon.
