Edinboro Drops PSAC Opener to Gannon

ERIE, PA – Edinboro's four game winning streak came to a halt at Gannon University Field Wednesday night as the Fighting Scots dropped their second game of the year, 17-8 to the Lady Knights.  Edinboro opens PSAC play at 0-1 and stands at 4-2 overall while Gannon improves to 4-2 and 1-0, respectively.

Gannon raced out to an 8-0 lead in the first 14:37 of the game and from there traded goals back and forth with the Fighting Scots, who were never able to get closer than nine. 

Shannon Rohrich and Katie Magee led Edinboro with two goals apiece.  Rebecca Zajac, Anna Purdy, Jenny Wirth, and Rebecca Martin each tallied one goal for the Fighting Scots.  Zajac collected the lone assist for Edinboro.

Freshman goal keeper Autumn Held took the loss, moving her to 4-2 on the season. 

Gannon was led by Kimberly Neagle, who netted five goals, including three of the first eight.  Jess Fugate and Natalie Bonnepart each added four and Caitlyn Fisher (2), Christie Valentine (1), and Becky Hilker (1) rounded out the scoring for the Lady Knights. 

Weather permitting, Edinboro's next game is scheduled for Saturday, March 30 at home against Indiana (Pa.) with a start time slated for 1 p.m.  Check back to www.GoFightingScots.com for up-to-date game information.
