STORYLINE
The Edinboro women's basketball team rides a three-game winning streak into a home PSAC crossover contest against Shippensburg. This is also Edinboro's last crossover game of the year. The Fighting Scots winning streak is their longest of the season. They face a Raiders team that is coming off an overtime win versus Slippery Rock. Edinboro and Shippensburg are two of the four teams currently undefeated within their division in the conference and is a battle between the second place teams in their respective divisions.

#30 Valerie Majewski (G, 5-7, Jr.) – The Fighting Scots have been led in scoring by
Valerie Majewski in each of the past three games. She was named PSAC West Player of the Week for her efforts after averaging 19.6 per game during the week. The junior guard is averaging 15.1 points per game, which leads the team and ranks 14
th in the conference.
#13 Aignee' Freeland (F/C, 6-3, So.) – Last year against Shippensburg,
Aignee' Freeland pulled down 12 rebounds on the road. She also added six points and three blocks. The Raiders are among the best in the league in rebounding (fourth in the PSAC in rebounding margin at +3.1) and Freeland will need to provide a presence against the two six-footers Stephanie Knauer and Morgan Griffith.

#24 Lauren Gold (G, 5-5, Fr.) – This freshman guard has made an instant impact in the PSAC, as Lauren Gold is second in the conference in assists per game. She is third on the team in scoring but has struggled shooting from the floor lately (18.75 percent over the last four games).
#32 Sarah Strybuc (G, 5-7, Sr.) - Sarah Strybuc has been a stellar shooting guard for Shippensburg over her career. She is currently third in the PSAC in points per game (19.3 ppg). The senior guard is 11th in the conference in 3-point field goal percentage (32.4 percent) after finishing fourth a year ago. In her career against Edinboro, she has never scored in double-digits.
SCOUTING SHIPPENSBURG
Shippensburg opened the season by winning seven of its first eight games, including a six-game winning streak. Since then, the Raiders have gone 2-2 including a 70-49 loss in the Raiders last road game at Indiana (Pa.) on December 18. Shippensburg is third in the PSAC in points per game, averaging 79.5 per game. On the road, they average only 71.7 points compared to 82.1 at home. On defense, Ship ranks last in the conference in 3-point field goal percentage defense, allowing opposing teams to shoot 37.3 percent from beyond the arc. The Raiders are led by senior guard Sarah Strybuc who is having a career season. Her 19.3 points per game leads the team and is third in the PSAC. Sophomore forward Stephanie Knauer is almost keeping pace with Strybuc, averaging 18.9 per game, good for fourth in the conference. Knauer's 9.1 rebounds per game are also fourth in the conference. Over the Raiders last four games, Strybuc has seen her numbers drop. After posting consecutive games of over 30 points, she has scored just a high of 20 points over the last four games and is averaging 15.8 ppg. The senior guard has struggled versus the Fighting Scots in her career, averaging just 6.7 points per game and shooting 2-for-11 (.182 percent) on 3-pointers. Knauer has played well as of late including a 31-point, 16-rebound game against California (Pa.). Freshman Lauren Gold is the team leader in assists at 4.7 per game, second in the conference.

Last Meeting - Edinboro 63, Shippensburg 53 (January 4, 2013)
The Fighting Scots have won four straight against Shippensburg, defeating the Raiders 63-53 a year ago. Edinboro dominated the first half and the glass during the victory. The Scots led 34-18 at halftime and limited the Raiders to just 5-for-22 (22.7 percent) from the field. For the game, Edinboro outrebounded Shippensburg 49-31 including pulling down 19 offensive rebounds as opposed to just five for the Raiders.
Kiara Brown led all players in scoring with 17 points for the Scots while
Samantha Blazetic added 16 points for Edinboro. Blazetic registered a double-double, pulling down 13 rebounds and
Aignee' Freeland also had 12 rebounds. Shawna Wert led the Raiders with 15 points.
Darche' Jackson finished with 12 points in addition to seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

Edinboro 81, Cheyney 51
In a dominant second-half performance, the Fighting Scots cruised past the Lady Wolves in an 81-51 victory. Edinboro held Cheyney to just 4-for-27 (14.8 percent) in the final frame. The Scots trailed early after allowing the Lady Wolves to go on a 13-2 run. Edinboro would then go on a 17-0 run to capture the lead and never surrender it. The Fighting Scots were led by
Valerie Majewski who scored 17 points in just 25 minutes. Edinboro also received two key bench performances from
Katie Collins and
Hope Mancini, who each scored 13 points in 14 minutes of action.
Aignee' Freeland barely missed a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds while
Laurel Lindsay led the team with seven assists.
Shippensburg 74, Slippery Rock 73 (OT)
In dramatic fashion, Shippensburg defeated Slippery Rock to give head coach Kristy Trn her 250th career win, as the Raiders narrowly beat The Rock 74-73. Leading by five points with 18 seconds to go following a pair of made free throws by Lauren Gold, Erica Aiello hit a jumper with 12 seconds remaining the cut the deficit to three points. On the following possession, Gold turned the ball over. Megan Hardiman had the steal for the Rock and attempted a 3-pointer in which she was fouled on. With five seconds to go, Hardiman would make all three free throws to send the game to overtime. Gold avenged her turnover in overtime by hitting a 3-pointer 15 seconds into the extra period to give the Raiders a lead they would not let go. Gold led all Raiders with 17 points including going 11-for-12 (91.7 percent) from the free throw line. Morgan Griffith had a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds while Sarah Strybuc played all 45 minutes in the game and finished with 12 points.
