Last 10 Meetings: 6-4EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro volleyball team closes a nine-match home stand with a pair of PSAC Western Division matches against local rivals Gannon and Mercyhurst on Friday and Saturday at McComb Fieldhouse. The Fighting Scots, who own a 19-7 overall mark and a 10-5 ledger, host the Lady Knights (20-2, 13-2 PSAC) on Friday night at 7 p.m., before taking on the Lakers (14-9, 9-6 PSAC) on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
Edinboro enters this weekend's matches following a 3-0 sweep of visiting IUP in a PSAC contest last Saturday afternoon at McComb Fieldhouse. The Fighting Scots eclipsed their win total of 18 victories with the triumph over the Crimson Hawks.
Edinboro owns a 7-2 ledger at home this season, while the 20-2 Lady Knights have suffered both of their losses on the road, and the Lakers are 3-3 as the visiting team. The Fighting Scots currently sit in fifth place in the PSAC Western Division standings. The top four teams from both the Eastern and Western Divisions qualify for the PSAC Championship Tournament.
Edinboro has five matches remaining against teams ahead of the Fighting Scots in the Western Division standings beginning with Friday night's match against Gannon. Edinboro last qualified for the postseason during the 2011 campaign.
Jen Gruber leads the Fighting Scots' attack with 238 kills, followed by
Marah Maycock with 213 kills and
Tabitha Meeks with 178 kills.

th in the PSAC with 7.2 assists per set, while
Challen Litwiler sits second in the PSAC with 0.49 assists.
Maria Concheck leads Edinboro and stands seventh in the conference with 86 total blocks.
Haley Marett ranks second in Edinboro history, 11th in PSAC history and 10th among active NCAA Division II athletes with 1,919 career digs. The 5'4'' libero also ranks second in school history with 4.52 digs per set. She is tied for fifth in NCAA Division II and ranks second in the PSAC with 491 total digs, while sitting sixth in the conference and 37th in the NCAA with 5.28 digs per set. The New Wilmington, Pa. native set the Edinboro single-season record with 751 digs in 2013, the sixth-highest total in a single season in PSAC history.
Gannon sits alone in second place in the PSAC Western Division standings with a 13-2 mark in conference play. The Lady Knights started the season with 13 consecutive victories before dropping a pair of PSAC West matchups against crosstown rival Mercyhurst and first-place Clarion by identical scores of 3-2.
Gannon has responded to the losses with six straight victories coming into Friday's contest against the Fighting Scots. The Lady Knights are led by senior setter Megan Wendel and sophomore outside hitter Hannah Kren. A second-team All-PSAC West selection a year ago, Wendel paces the PSAC with 11.62 assists per set, while ranking third on the team with 177 digs. Kren leads the conference with 3.73 kills per set and sits second on the team with 242 total digs. Taryn Graham ranks seventh in the PSAC with 5.22 digs per set. Gannon ranks ninth in NCAA Division II with 14.31 kills per set this season.
Mercyhurst has dropped three consecutive matches and four of its last five contests coming into the weekend, however the Lakers forced five games in each of their last two matches against PSAC Western Division contenders 20-6 California (Pa.) and 22-3 Seton Hill. The Lakers started the season winning 9 of their first 11 matches. Sarah Wegrzyn ranks fifth in the PSAC with 3.19 kills per set, while Kelly Vitt sits third in the conference with 10.51 assists per set and Lexi Stefanov ranks fourth in the league at 1.05 blocks per set.
Following this weekend's contests, Edinboro returns to action on Tuesday, October 28 traveling to Slippery Rock for a 7 p.m. matchup.
