Fighting Scots Travel to Seton Hill for PSAC Opener

STORYLINE
The No. 6 Edinboro women's basketball team travels to Greensburg, Pa. on Wednesday evening to play Seton Hill in each teams Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Opener (PSAC) opener. The Fighting Scots have won nine consecutive PSAC road games including a 65-53 victory the last time these two met in Salvitti Gymnasium. The Scots last road PSAC loss came on February 13, 2013 at No. 10 Gannon 71-62. Edinboro enters with a 2-0 record while the Griffins are 1-1.

EDINBORO QUICK THREE
• Hope Mancini opened the season with 26 points against Chowan, the second-highest total in her career. The graduate student guard missed the final 20 games of last season after averaging career-highs with 12.2 ppg. and 3.5 rpg.
 
• Lauren Hippo will be making her 15th straight start after starting the final 12 games of last season. The junior guard scored 18 points against Chowan and 10 against Virginia-Wise on the opening weekend. Edinboro is now 15-1 when Hippo scores in double figures.
 
• 2014 WBCA All-American Valerie Majewski is still questionable after missing the first two games of the season. The senior guard, who was also accorded 2014 PSAC West Athlete of the Year, started all 33 games for the Fighting Scots last year.

SCOUTING SETON HILL
• The Griffins showed well in their opening weekend, defeating West Virginia State 68-65 last Friday and then losing to Charleston 72-64 the following day. Seton Hill was even tied with the Golden Eagles at 48 with 7:11 remaining but could not knock off the NCAA Tournament squad from last season. The Griffins are averag­ing 66.0 points per game (ppg.) and 68.5 ppg. against through two games.
 
• Freshman Lindsey Mifsud was named to the All-Tournament Team at the MEC/ PSAC Challenge. The freshman guard scored 26 points in 34 minutes of action in the two games. She is a native of nearby Erie, Pa. and graduated from Villa Maria.
 
• Senior Meghan Mastroianni was also accorded All-Tournament Team honors. The guard began the season with 14 points and eight rebounds after averaging career-highs 8.3 ppg. and 5.4 rebounds per game (rpg.) last season.
