STORYLINE
The No. 6 Edinboro women's basketball team hosts California (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon for its 2014-15 home opener. The Fighting Scots are looking to avenge an 80-55 loss suffered to the Vulcans at McComb Fieldhouse last year. Each team enters the game 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the PSAC West. Edinboro was picked to finish first in the PSAC West Preseason Coaches' Poll while Cal was slated to finish third.

EDINBORO QUICK THREE
• Aignee' Freeland dominated in the Fighting Scots 68-57 win at Seton Hill. The junior forward/center registered her 19th career double-double with 25 points and 17 rebounds. Freeland is averaging 13.7 points per game and 10.0 rebounds per game, one of only nine players in the PSAC averaging a double-double.
 
• Laurel Lindsay is among the PSAC leaders in assists. The graduate student's 21 assists are good for second most in the conference. Lindsay is also averaging 15.0 ppg. and 4.3 rpg.
 
Lauren Hippo has been lights out on 3-pointers once against this season. The junior guard is leading the PSAC with 10 3-pointers made and is tied for second in 3-point percentage at 50.0 percent (minimum 10 attempts). Last season Hippo shot 48.9 percent from beyond the arc, the second-highest mark in conference history.

SCOUTING CALIFORNIA (PA)
• The Vulcans have opened the season 3-0 including a 78-68 win over No. 18 West Liberty. They have won each of their games by double-digits. California (Pa.) is committing only 12.3 turnovers per game (fewest in the PSAC) and forcing 23.7 turnovers per game (the most in the PSAC) for a +11.33 turnover margin (highest in the PSAC). The Vulcans have struggled with 3-pointers this season as they ranked 13th in the PSAC in 3-point field goal percentage (23.7 percent) and second to last in 3-point field goal percentage defense (43.9 percent).

 
• Emma Mahady leads California (Pa.) with 18.7 ppg. and 8.3 rpg. The senior from Albury, Australia is 23-for-43 (53.5 percent) from the field. Against Edinboro last season, she shot 5-for-20 (25 percent) from the floor and averaged 7.0 ppg. in the two contests.

• Miki Glenn was named PSAC West Freshman of the Year last season. The sophomore guard leads the Vulcans with eight assists while adding 13.3 ppg. and 6.7 rpg. Glenn also leads the PSAC with 13 steals. The last time these two teams met she scored 22 points on 6-for-11 shooting to go with seven rebounds and three assists.
