Edinboro Holds Strong at End to Defeat Charleston 64-62, Sets up Fourth Meeting with Gannon

Darche' Jackson was the only other Edinboro player to score in double figures. The senior guard finished with 13 points, five rebounds, and three steals.

Hippo was limited to 22 minutes due to foul trouble, but hit all three of her 3-pointers to finish with nine points.

Lockhart shot 7-for-19 on her way to the game-high 20 points. She also had five rebounds and five assists.

Perry was the only other member of the Golden Eagles to score in double figures going 5-for-6 on 3-pointers to conclude with 15 points.

Edinboro shot 46.3 percent from the floor while Charleston shot 41.4 percent. Each team shot well in the second half, with the Golden Eagles making 56.0 percent of their shots and the Fighting Scots converting on 50.0 percent.

The Scots continued their strong shooting on 3-pointers hitting 5 of 9 of their attempts. Edinboro was outrebounded 37-35 but committed less turnovers than Charleston, winning the turnover battle 14-9.

Tip-off will be at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow night for the Edinboro-Gannon second round game. The game will once again be at Lilly Gymnasium at Glenville State. The Lady Knights defeated Shaw 76-70 in the opening game of the regional. The Fighting Scots won all three games in the series this season including an 86-76 win in the PSAC Championship. Gannon comes in with a 28-3 record this season
