Edinboro Improves to 2-0 with 19-2 Win at Alderson Broaddus

Box Score (New/Sortable Format) PHILIPPI, WV (Mrch 14, 2014) – The Edinboro women's lacrosse team made it back-to-back wins over West Virginia school to start the 2014 season thanks to a 19-2 triumph at Alderson-Broaddus on Friday afternoon.  While Edinboro improved to 2-0, the loss dropped the Battlers to 1-4.

Rebecca Martin scored 54 second into the match off an assist from Cydney Hrycko, and Edinboro never looked back. The Fighting Scots scored the first eight goals of the match before Alderson Broaddus finally got on the scoreboard, and would lead 9-1 at the half.   Edinboro would add ten more goals in the second half.

Freshman Alexa Healy scored six goals and added an assist, as seven different players scored goals.  Fellow freshman Hrycko added four goals and four assists.  Martin had two goals and was credited with seven assists, while Anna Purdy had two goals and four assists. Jenny Wirth had two goals and an assist, with Rachel Olson scoring twice. Samantha Tomasic scored one goal.

Autumn Held played the first half in goal and had one save while picking up the win. Freshman Amanda Zbivonec had a pair of saves while playing in the net in the second half.

Edinboro held a 36-5 advantage in shots.
