Box Score Arlington, TX (March 7, 2014) – The Edinboro men's wheelchair basketball team fell to Southwest Minnesota State 48-31 in the consolation bracket of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association Intercollegiate Division National Championship on Friday morning in Arlington, TX. The event is hosted by the University of Texas at Arlington. The Fighting Scots finished in seventh place in the tournament and close the season with a 4-26 record.
Edinboro jumped out to an early 11-9 lead 12 minutes into the contest on a basket by
Hollis Muenster. The Mustangs evened the score at 11 shortly after, before taking the lead for good at the 7:23 mark of the first half.
John Herndon paced Edinboro with 13 points, while
Derek Strickland added 11 markers.
Southwest Minnesota State shot 41.2 percent (21 of 51) for the game, while the Fighting Scots connected on 25.9 percent (14 of 54) of field goal attempts on the afternoon.
David Nelson led all scorers with 18 points for the Mustangs.
