No. 7 Indiana (Pa.) Defeats Edinboro 21-5

Box Score (New/Sortable Format) EDINBORO, Pa. (April 1, 2014) - The Edinboro women's lacrosse team fell at home to No. 7 Indiana (Pa.) on Tuesday evening 21-5. The Fighting Scots record drops to 5-3 overall and 2-3 in the PSAC. The Crimson Hawks have now won five straight and improve to 7-2 on the season and 5-0 in conference.

ended the IUP run with a goal with 6:31 remaining in the first half. Kim Hooven added one more goal for the Crimson Hawks with 1:39 left to take a 12-2 lead into halftime.

The two teams each scored three goals throughout the first 18 minutes of the second half with Alexa Healy scoring twice for the Scots. The last goal from Healy came with 12:50 on the clock as they trailed 15-5.

That would be the last Edinboro goal as IUP would score the final six goals of the game.

Hrycko and Healy each ended with two goals. Healy leads the team in goals with 22 while Hrycko is second with 16. Peters finished with a goal and an assist and improved her season point total to nine.

Hayden finished with a game-high five goals.  Weinberg had four goals to go along with two assists for a game-high six points. Hooven was the only other player to tally multiple goals and assists in the game, finishing with two goals and two assists.

Autumn Held started the game in net for the Fighting Scots but was replaced for Amanda Zbivonec following an 11-1 start to the game. Zbivonec finished with nine saves.

Indiana (Pa.) outshot Edinboro 35-10 with 30 of those shots on goal. It was the highest number of shots allowed by Edinboro this season.

The Crimson Hawks went a perfect 13-for-13 on clear attempts for the game. The Scots finished 10-for-17 on clears. Edinboro also suffered 24 turnovers to IUP's 14.

The Fighting Scots will look to avenge the loss on Thursday afternoon when they take on West Virginia Wesleyan. That game is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
