Scots Score Final Six Goals to Upset Bloomsburg 12-11

Wirth vs. Bloom
Jenny Wirth got the rally started with a goal at the 10:10 mark as the two teams went almost nine minutes without scoring. Wirth would score again 55 seconds later on a free position goal to close the gap to 11-8.
 
Rebecca Martin, Edinboro's leading scorer, scored her lone goal of the match at the 7:15 mark to make it 11-9, and exactly a minute later freshman Cydney Hrycko scored her 27th goal of the season leaving Edinboro trailing by just a goal at 11-10.
 
Hannah Mong would tie the score with 5 minutes and 7 seconds remaining off a beautiful pass from Emily Peters.  Edinboro regained possession on the ensuing faceoff and Rachel Olson beat goalkeeper Abbey Burnett for her eighth goal of the season at the 4:34 mark to give Edinboro the lead at 12-11.
 
Held vs. Bloom
Held and the Edinboro defense made the slim one goal lead hold up as Bloomsburg had several opportunities at scoring before Edinboro regained control of the ball with just under a minute to play and ran out the clock. Held, a sophomore, would finish with 13 saves.
 
Hrycko, Wirth and Anny Purdy led Edinboro with three goals apiece. Martin had a goal and an assist, with Mong and Olson contributing a goal.  Bloomsburg featured three goals and an assist by Julie Falk and Bossert, with Brigid Kyne adding a pair of goals.  Burnett totaled 14 saves in goal.
 
Bloomsburg finished with a 31-28 advantage in shots, and both teams committed 14 turnovers.
 
Edinboro returns to action on Tuesday, April 15 playing at Slippery Rock.
