Box Score (New/Sortable Format) EDINBORO, Pa. (April 3, 2014) - The Edinboro women's lacrosse team defeated West Virginia Wesleyan 19-5 on Thursday afternoon. The Fighting Scots controlled the game from the beginning and were paced in scoring by
each scored a pair during the run and Peters had the other goal.
Anna Purdy assisted on four of the five goals during that stretch. The Scots held a 10-2 lead with 2:42 remaining in the first half at the conclusion of the run. They led at halftime 11-3.
The Fighting Scots would have another 5-0 run in the second half. Hrycko started the run with a one-timer goal off a pass from Peters with 26:52 left to play.
Rebecca Martin's goal with 18:22 left gave Edinboro a 17-4 lead. Martin and
Hannah Mong would score the last two goals of the game to give the Scots the 19-5 victory.
Healy's double hat-trick was her third of the season. The freshman midfielder added two assists to finish with a career-high eight points.
Three other players for Edinboro tallied three goals or more and each tied their career-highs in goals. Hrycko finished with four goals while Peters and Martin each had three goals. Peters added a game-high four assists on her way to a career-high seven points. Purdy's four assists tied her career-high.
Autumn Held started and received the win for the Scots while playing 36:52 of the 60 minutes. She allowed four goals while
Amanda Zbivonec allowed one goal in 23:08 of action. Each goalie had three saves.
Kallie Morgan suffered the loss in net for the Bobcats. She played all 60 minutes and had 10 saves.
Edinboro finished with 35 shots to West Virginia Wesleyan's 12. The Fighting Scots also won the draw controls 18-8.
Edinboro is back in action on Saturday, April 5 at 1:00 p.m. against Mercyhurst. The Lakers were ranked 14
th in the latest IWLCA rankings. The Fighting Scots are one victory away from tying a program record of seven wins that they set last season.
