EDINBORO STARTING FIVEÂ
Â
EDINBORO QUICK THREE•Â
Laurel Lindsay continues to climb the career ranks in Edinboro history. Against Gannon last Saturday she became just the 29th player in Edinboro school history to reach 1,000 career points when she made the first of two free throws. Lindsay is just the 89th active player in Division II to achieve that feat. The graduate student guard/forward also joins a select group of six Fighting Scots that have reached 1,000 or more career points and 400 or more career assists. The South Park, Pa. native is now well within sight of becoming the highest-scoring player in school history with 500 assists. Lindsay needs just six points and 52 assists to reach those goals.

In wins, Freeland shoots 66-for-121 (54.5 percent) and averages 13.7 ppg. and 8.6 rpg. Freeland is nearing 1,000 career points. The York, Pa. native is 120 points away from reaching that mark.

Valerie Majewski returned for Edinboro after missing the first five games of the season. Since her return, the Fighting Scots are 8-3. Majewski is first for Edinboro in scoring (12.9 ppg.), second in steals (24), and third in assists (31). Edinboro has significantly cut down on its turnovers since Majewski entered the line-up. The Scots are committing 15.0 turnovers per game with the senior guard in the lineup and 20 turnovers per game without her. In the Fighting Scots last contest at Indiana (Pa.) Majewski led the team with 17 points.
SCOUTING CLARION• Clarion is in the midst of a 12-game losing streak. The Golden Eagles rank last in the conference in scoring offense (54.9 ppg.) and ranks in the bottom five in several other statistics including scoring defense (69.9 ppg. - 15th), field goal percentage (37.1 percent - 17th), and opponents field goal percentage (42.7 percent - 15th).
Â
• The Golden Eagles top player was Hannah Heeter but the senior forward is done for the season after sustaining an injury. The accomplished basketball and volleyball player has earned an array of accolades. On the basketball court, Heeter was named to the Daktronics All-Atlantic Region team and PSAC West first-team selection in back-to-back years. She was the first Golden Eagle to ever average a double-double in three straight seasons and concludes her career averaging 14.0 ppg. and 12.4 rpg. Without Heeter, who has been out since the Bloomsburg game on December 16, Clarion has topped 60 points just once in eight contests.
Â
• Tania Holmes has been Clarion's top scorer in Heeter's absence. The junior guard is averaging 14.1 ppg. and also leads the team with 33 steals, the latter ranking seventh in the PSAC.
